Well I must say that this lovely place was an unexpected pleasure! We just happened in by checking for a place to eat near where we were driving on Google and what a surprise! The atmosphere was warm, waitress extremely efficient and pleasant, and food spectacular! Kudos to the chef! My husband and I had the Sharing Platter which was simply amazing and so much we took some of ours with us. Our friend enjoyed the Mushroom and Bacon Pasta dish. This warm, inviting restaurant is certainly a place to enjoy!

From the moment you walk in you are great with a warm hello and are sat straight away.
We ordered two cappuccino which were the most delicious coffees we have ever had, no bitterness whatsoever.
For lunch my husband had the eggs benedict, I had the bacon mushroom pasta and we split the fried chicken tostada.
Everything was so fresh and great portions.
We didnt have to wait long at all for the food or coffees to come out. That in itself proves excellence in service and customer satisfaction.
Main street cafe and restaurant is our new favourite place to eat in invercargill.

A gem of a restaurant! What a wonderful surprise when we discovered this lovely cafe. The service was excellent and the food fabulous. My eggs were done exactly as I asked as were my husband’s. Coffee was delicious. Excellent value also. Spectacular culture.
This place is obviously frequented by locals and tourists alike and everyone is warmly welcomed. Well done Main Street Cafe!!
